An abattoir licensed for BSE cull Incineration, has
a capacity of 2 tonnes per hour and is currently regulated
by the Environment Agency under IPC, part A, Chapter
5.1 (Incineration process). The actual Incineration
Fee is £120 per head. The gas cost per head for
incineration is £25. Taking the average animal
carcass weight as 500 kg this gives a maximum carcass
throughput of 4 head per hour, giving a gross hourly
revenue of £480 with an hourly
gas cost of £100
AU EfW solution
Installation of a unique automated Shredder/Dryer system
that reduces the weight of each carcass from 500 kg
to 165 kg. By driving off all moisture but retaining
all fats and oil, this converts the carcass into an
extremely high calorific value fuel that does not require
gas assistance to combust.
This system allows the combustion of 12 carcasses per
hour without affecting the mass (2 tonnes) and
without the costs related to a constant gas requirement.
12 carcasses per hour = £1,440 The EfW Shredder/Dryer
hourly rental is £13.83
